The Melness headland is ultimately a dead-end but there is a little more to see beyond Talmine. Take the road towards the church and to Midfield beyond and soon you will see a signpost to Port Vasgo.
This small pebbly beach and rocky cove can be a fun place to while away some time and the abandoned farm buildings and fishing equipment can be remarkably photogenic.
Stack stones or skim them in the rocky inlet. Or try your hand at a spot of sea fishing.
Walking out on the rocks you may be lucky to spot some seals or whales out at sea or birds, including puffins and oyster catchers, fishing close by.
Notes for visitors with limited mobility:
It is possible to park very close to the beach and the beach is at the same level as the road but it is very uneven.
