Altnaharra is a small village between Lairg and Tongue and may be familiar to you from weather forecasts as it has a weather station and has recorded the lowest temperatures in the UK on several occasions.
There isn't much to Altnaharra but sitting at the head of Loch Naver and foot of Ben Clibreck it is a popular base for anglers and rockclimbers since 1820.
